Full Description

Large defended settlement dating to the Late Iron Age located on Sheepen Hill, bounded by a defensive dyke and the River Colne. Evidence has been recovered for manufacturing and minting of coins here, also large quantities of traded Roman goods have been found on the site. Apparently a specialised defended zone within the larger defended area of Camulodunum.<1>
