Full Description

Together with much burnt material, slag, furnace clay, pieces of crucibles was a great quantity of fragments of peculiar pitted slab-moulds of highly baked clay, near pit K1. The moulds appear to be casting flans on which the coins were struck.<1>
A small dump of coin-flan moulds were found during excavations in 1971 (see MCC1355).<2>
