Watching brief at Upper Castle Park Colchester at the Summerhouse and the rotunda

Test Pit 6, one of ten test pits excavated by Access Cambridge Archaeology in West Mersea in 2009, produced a couple of late medieval date to post medieval sherds.

Medieval baby burial, below Room 3a of (Medieval) CAT Building 28, Site D & G, Lion Walk, recorded during the excavations at Lion Walk between 1971-4.

The medieval church was almost completely destroyed by a bomb in 1940, rebuilt in Perp style in 1957-8. Rendered walls with stone dressings, and a brick S. porch.
