A tessellated pavement was found W of Trinity Street "in the garden of Francis the Solicitor" and is shown on the OS 1:500 map and Cutts' plan - the former gives no date.

In May 1935 Mr EJ Rudsdale noted a red tessellated floor at the back of the National Omnibus Company's Garage "near trench dug in 1931" and at a depth of 4.5ft.
