Full Description

Three Roman foundations and parts of mortar bases for tessellated floors uncovered. The width of the foundations is consistent with houses rather than public buildings. Foundation 2 was of septaria set in mortar, the wall abover mortared septaria faced with coursed tile. Foundation 3 was heavily robbed. To the S of foundation 1 was the base of a mosaic pavement; no tesserae in situ. Above and below the base was yellow brown dump material including some plaster, resumably the remains of demolished daub walls. <1>
