Full Description

Roman pottery kilns found near the hospital. One was discovered in 1819 during the building of the hospital - its excat site is unknown. The second was found in Dr Macleans garden opposite the hospital. A further possible kiln existed to the east (at c.TL 990249) where quantities of pottery were found in 1938.
