Full Description

A group of three jars and at least three other white pots found in the eaely 1970's by a builder who sold them to Mr Jeffries. The group of three probably funerary vessels consists of jars including one `honeypot' and one with an unusually long neck. Probably found nearby were a small unguent flask and two belgic ty e bowls one of which is now in Canada. <1> Photos on SMR. <2> A collection of four complete Roman vessels and an almost complete Cam f.218 bowl said to have been found in Hospital Lane, Colchester, a location which lies within the west cemetery of Roman Colchester (site 11852) and the pots were almost certainly taken from graves during modern building works. The group comprises a bowl, `honeypot', storage jar, large flask, unguent flask and tall necked flask. <3>
