Description

During the excavation of four foundation pits , each 0.6m square and between 0.6m and 0.75m deep, for an organ gallery, part of an inhumation was encountered. The inhumation lying on it's back was aligned East to west, head to the west. The upper part of the inhumation, which was not uncovered, appeared to pre date the 13th-century west wall of the nave. Three other features of indeterminate date were encountered. The bones were left in situ.
