Summary

Some months after excavations (of `Mithraeum' - see ) closed a small amount of levelling was done in `this corner of the meadow (?which corner) and remains of Roman walling struck just below the surface.

Full Description

Some months after excavations (of `Mithraeum' - see ) closed a small amount of levelling was done in `this corner of the meadow (?which corner) and remains of Roman walling struck just below the surface. A fragment running approximately N-S was nearly 9ft long and 18" wide; three courses of septaria remained. On the E side of this another wall abutted with a sraight joint, thickness and material the same although only a short length remained. <1>
