Full Description

Building survey and excavation carried out during alteration to Nos 2 and 3 and erection of a new building on the site of No 1. Two C12 trenches had been dug to rob Roman foundations and several pits dating from the C13-C17 were found. Two pits containing Thetford type ware were also found. <1> Finds in Colchester Museum. <2> Medieval evidence comprised finds, pits, kilns or ovens - robbing of Roman trenches. No indication of late Anglo-Saxon occupation. <3>
