Full Description

Building survey and excavation here during alteration to Nos 2 and 3, and erection of a new building on the site of No 1. The earliest post-Roman features excavated were 2 pits containing Thetford type ware. <1> <3> Finds in Colchester Museum. <2> Trinity Street is probably of C10/C11 origin. The site lies opposite Holy Trinity Church and thus is a prime candidate for late Saxon/early medieval remains. <4>
