Summary
Late Iron Age defensive earthwork, aligned roughly N to S on the north side of the River Colne, c.1.2km in length, c.2km to the north-west of the (later) walled town.

Full Description
A large curving dyke with western ditch protecting the northern flank of the Late Iron Age settlement at Sheepen (and c.2km to the northwest of the later walled town). It is undated, although forms a continuous line with Lexden Dyke North (MCC2098), Lexden Dyke Middle (MCC2096), Bluebottle Grove (MCC1585) and Lexden Dyke South (MCC2094), and may therefore be part of the same monument. Lexden Dyke Middle (MCC2096) has been tentatively dated to AD 5-43.<1>

The Royal Commission survey of 1914 recorded the dyke right up to Braiswick Road.<3>
