Early Anglo-Saxon Cemetery, Mersea Road, Colchester, certainly with inhumations and potentially some cremation burials, possibly c.3ha. in area based on the spread of discoveries.

Early C19 brick building (DEMOLISHED).

Roman building with a central courtyard, and three mosaic floors, investigated during excavations at Middleborough (Cattle Market) in 1979, adjacent to the Roman north gate.

16th century range (partially demolished).

Medieval building, dating to c.1450/1500, revealed during excavations on the west side of Middleborough (Cattle Market) in 1979. The north wing of the timber-framed building survived as the New Market Tavern from 1862 until demolition in 1978.

An excavation in advance of the construction of a new enclosure at Colchester Zoo, to the NE of the remains of All Saints Church (NHLE no. 1019879), defined 34 (intercutting) medieval inhumation graves and the northern edge of the church graveyard.

A number of medieval and late medieval ditches, pits (clay extraction pits?) and post-holes were defined (possibly part of a structure?) in advance of the construction of a water pipeline in 2011.
