Full Description

Four layers of compact stoney road metalling observed in the N face of a 2m deep trench situated on the line of the S carriageway of the Balkerne Gate. This extended from a depth of 1.16-1.55m below the surface of the road, south of `The Hole in the Wall' PH.<1>
