Section across Grymes Dyke South by C.F.C. Hawkes (Section no. XIII).
A watching brief on the Anglian Water pipeline found possible prehistoric site at Copford, sectioned Gryme's Dyke, Roman road deposits. A section was cut at TL 9579 2231, revealing a poorly defined section of the ditch but no base of bank. Ditch approx 5m wide.<4>
