Monument record MCC7638 - Roman and undated features, east of Bell House Farm, Stanway
Summary
Cropmarks; possible roads/trackways though fairly indistinct on the aerial photographs. Evaluation by CAT in the southern part of this area at Warren Lane in 2019-2020 dated several linear features to the Roman period.

Cropmarks centred on above NGR; possible roads/trackways though fairly indistinct on the APs. <1> - <8>
Site Assessment = The site is in an area due to be extracted in Warren Lane Gravel Pit. <1>
Aerial Photos <9>
Evaluation by CAT in 2019-2020 in the southern part of this area at Warren Lane included trenches placed across two broadly parallel NE-SW cropmarks. The eastern ditch was present, and contained Roman pottery. The western cropmark has not found, but several roughly parallel ditches were present in different positions, some containing very few sherds of abraded Roman pottery. <10>
