Full Description

A north-south Roman wall discovered during excavations by Colchester Archaeological Group on the St Mary's Rectory Site in 1965 (ECC942). The wall was evidenced by the lower courses of its foundation. This wall together with other adjacent walls (MCC2034, MCC2035, MCC2036) and a tessellated pavement (MCC2039) were interpreted by the excavator as belonging to a 4th century 'dwelling house'.<1>
