Full Description

During excavations at New Kiln Road in 1971 (ECC406), Late Bronze Age flint-gritted pottery was discovered in association with various features (MCC1354) together with a small dump of moulds for Late Iron Age coin flans probably derived from the mint of Cunobelin (MCC599) located in the Iron Age manufacturing centre at Sheepen (MCC1427).<1>

173 sherds of Late Bronze Age flint gritted pottery,
438 discarded Late Iron Age coin flans,
Miscellaneous sherds typical of the Late Iron Age or early Roman pottery from Sheepen,
A nearly complete Late Iron Age pot (F29).<1>
