Description

Excavations in the rear garden of No 18 North Hill revealed large areas covered with tessellated pavement (both red pavement and patterned pavement). A portion of this pavement was lifted and taken to the Castle Museum for preservation.<1><2> A plan was made of the pavements by the Borough Engineer.<3>
