Description

Magnitude Surveys undertook a geophysical survey to assess the subsurface archaeological potential of a c.6ha area of land at Chitts Hill, Stanway. A hand-pulled, cart-based magnetic survey was successfully completed and a linear anomaly correlating with the projected line of Gryme’s Dyke was identified. Overall, the geophysical results primarily reflected modern and agricultural activity, as well as natural variations in the soil’s magnetic properties.<1>
