Description

Six week excavation in the Spring of 1971 ahead of the construction of the southern section of the proposed Inner Relief Road. The site was in a temporary car park where the ground surface had previously been lowered revealing remnants of inhumations. During the excavation, 18 Roman inhumations were uncovered in addition to part of a Roman building and a series of post medieval pits.<1><2>
