Description

Small excavation early in 1976 undertaken in advance of the construction of an extension onto the north side of St Helena school. Six stanchion holes were excavated by hand where they were known to cut through the parch mark of a Roman building. The excavation revealed the remains of this building which was shown to be a Roman house. The other stanchion holes were inspected during building works.<1><2><3>
