Description

Rescue excavations undertaken ahead of extensive redevelopment on Turner Rise, north of Colchester. The excavations provided an opportunity to explore a known Roman cemetery dating from the late 1st to 3rd centuries. Also discovered were a previously unknown north - south Roman road, Roman ditches, post-medieval clay pits and a brick kiln.<1> There is no further information on this work, and no report.
