Full Description

In a lecture on St Peter's Parish P.G. Laver said, 'on the site of Messrs Simkin's furniture warehouse certain ovens etc were found suggesting a glass blower's works'.<1> Also, a photograph of a kiln on this site was given to the museum. It showed a small kiln of 13th or 14th date of the type used to manufacture tiles.<2>
