Full Description

During excavations at Culver Street between 1981-2 & 1984-5 (ECC337), a late Neolithic pit was discovered containing large fragments of Neolithic Grooved Ware pots and a large water-worn stone, possibly a rubbing-stone from a quern (see MCC2592). All were apparently deposited as a ritual and are indicative of an occupation site.<1>
