Full Description

A north-south footway or veranda was discovered during excavations at the Telephone Exchange site in 1966. The footway ran north-south alongside a main north-south street (the former via principalis, MCC760) and was adjacent to a late Roman building (MCC1576). The footway was represented by a wall of light construction running north-south along the eastern edge of the road.<1>
