Abstract/Summary

Archaeological evaluation by trial-trenching on Areas E and F at Colchester Garrison PFI site. 43 trenches were excavated in total. Of 331 archaeological contexts were excavated with only 39 dating to prehistoric or Late Iron Age/ Roman. The prehistoric features were represented by a few pits and Iron Age Roman appear to belong to an field system, seen in previous work. The majority of the area had been used for 20thC military activity. <28>
