Full Description

Manor House Farm is a historic farmstead located on the eastern edge of Tiptree Heath. It was originally shown on the Epoch 2 Map (1897-1904), labelled as Holly Farm, with five buildings arranged in a detached pattern forming what looks like two courtyards. Of the original farmstead only around 40% seems to have survived, including the Grade II listed early C19 Manor House Farmhouse (LB Number: 1266592). The buildings seem to have been demolished some time between 1923 and 1972. The modern buildings include a rebuilt annexe located to the east of the farmhouse, given planning permission in 2005. The use of the other modern buildings situated to the northeast of the modern annexe is currently unknown. The site seems to have moved from agricultural to residential, with former outbuildings converted into accommodation. <1>
