Full Description

Peete-Tye Common is originally shown on the 1777 Chapman & Andre Historic Map, located to the south of Abberton and Langenhoe. The common is shown on this map to be an irregularly shaped site, with thin linear sections following the roads. The map shows three collections of buildings surrounding the common. At this time Peete-tye Common extends north to Abberton Green.<1>

Peete-Tye Common is then shown on the County Series at 1:2500 Scale Epoch 1 Historic Map (1874-1887), which shows the common to be a very similar size and shape. Compared to the Chapman & Andre map there has been an increase in the number of buildings around the common. The main part of the common is still extant today.
