Full Description
Mount Green is only shown on the 1777 Chapman & Andre Historic Map, located to the south of the settlement of Mount Bures.
The green is a small triangle at the junction of two roads, with a small group of buildings around the edge. The map shows three collections of buildings on the edge of the green.<1> The OS First Edition 1:2500 (Epoch 1) shows the Town House on the south side of the green, which was the workhouse (MCC9309) between 1797 to 1841, and the Thatchers Arms PH on the east side.
