Full Description

Gold coin of Cunobelinus, a small, possibly iron age beaker and pottery dated 20-60 AD found in 1949 at Blackbrook Hill, Langham, over the south end of field at TM 03573239 (NGR given by OS). <1> - <4> Finds came from a small gravel pit at a poultry farm. The pit was opened on the north side of the house for gravel for garden paths. The coin came from this pit and also "a small conical cup. The ware was crude, brown and hand-made". Pottery was found when ground south of the house was excavated "of the same character as at Camulodunum, especially of f.119, of which the most part of one vessel was found." <5>
