Full Description

A small assemblage of Roman pottery was found in 1946 in what might have been a grave. The forms are given as 37, 156, 218, 268, 278, with one piece unclassified.<1> Other refs: <2><3>

A watching brief in 2014 during the construction of two rear extensions of 26 Melrose Road defined one probable pit containing a worked flint (of likely early Neolithic date) in one of the foundation trenches (MCC3142).<4>
