Full Description
Laver noted that a trench cut in Mr Frost's garden revealed a hard gravelled surface (see MCC760 and MCC2151) and at a distance of 22ft further east a tessellated pavement and foundations running North -South.<1><2>
Laver notes 'account of the pavement found in the garden at the back of No 9 North Hill- October 1920 Mr A.W. Frost excavated in this garden and several walls (see MCC2152) and pavements were found, the latter being principally of red tesserae, in some instances mixed with buff, and some opus signinum'.<3>
