Full Description

Soilmark of a red hill (remains of a Iron Age or Roman saltern).<1>

On certain aerial photographs the soilmarks of the red hills are small, only about 49m by 34m.<1>-<4> However, evidence on Google Earth shows that the red soil is very extensive. The NMP mapped the extent of the visible red soil.<5><6>

The discrete soil mark is particularly clear on Google Earth, dated 6/11/2006.

Another red hill is nearby, c.130m to the southwest (see MCC8739).<2><3><4>
