Full Description

(CAT building 171) A range of rooms from a substantial building. It probably fronted onto the north-south street along the western side of Insula 20 and may have formed a courtyard house. Room 1 included an oven; Room 2 may have had a tessellated floor. Room 5 included a backfilled cellar. It is possible that the building extended further to the south. To the north of these rooms and butted against the north wall, was another range of rooms. These were secondary to the other rooms and so may represent an extension of them. One room contained a late 3rd century coin hoard which dated approximately to the late 3rd century AD. See MCC88.<1>
