Full Description

Gold thrymsa found in a garden in Queen Street in 1952 and now in the British Museum. S.E. Rigold describes the coin as one of the 'Vanimund' series in very pale gold, probably from the two final stages of debasement. The Colchester legend reads TMVSNVMC (the better English copies read VANIMUNDUS) and probably dates to the 670s or 680s, probably minted in Kent. The weight is 1.18g. <1>
