Full Description

A mass of Roman masonry was found opposite the main nentrance to the Bull Hotel at a depth of c.18ft. It had been broken up in places and cut through by the older sewer. "More was now revealed, some in situ. One mass of square red tiles in courses set in red mortar and a few yards further on were masses of septaria set in ordinary white mortar". <1> Skeletons were found under the street opposite the Bull Hotel east of the above. <1>
