Full Description

Investigations by the Colchester Excavation Committee in 1935. Just outside the SW corner of the temenos of Temple 2 lay the very rough stone foundations of a building of late date which had been divided into 2 rooms. "Both this and the second temple had not been built until the ground on which they stood had been covered by a dark occupation level full of potsherds not earlier than the late C2 and probably actually C3". It was a timber-framed building. <1>
