In October 1931 a Roman wall 2ft thick and built of tilkes was found running NW-SE under the modern pavement on the W side of Head Street, close to the corner of Crouch Street.

Full Description

In October 1931 a Roman wall 2ft thick and built of tilkes was found running NW-SE under the modern pavement on the W side of Head Street, close to the corner of Crouch Street. (Recorded on heresay evidence given to EJ Rudsdale). <1>
