Ditch sectioned by machine by Colchester Borough Council to establish exact position to ensure its preservation during laying of new sewer. Ditch lay at foot of a natural valley and hill-wash made it difficult to estimate its full width. Ditch appeared to be about 8m wide but not sectioned to full width. <3>
