Full Description

Tessellated pavement, Queen Street.

A tessellated pavement was found in the basement of the Italian restaurant, No (Missing) Queen Street in March 1966 and was quickly covered up again. It was probably came from the same house partly excavated by the Colchester Excavation Committee later in the same year (see MCC1658).<1>
The restaurant in question could be Isola Bella No 13 Queen Street which was operating in the early 1970's.
