Full Description
OS 1:500 map marks `Roman pavement and coins found, 1852 and 1853' under the site of the former shed where the Park Cafe now stands. "For some reason Wheeler and Laver give the date as about 1848." <1> <2> Other refs given in source 1. <3> <4> tessellated pavement found about 1848, NE of the N angle of the Castle ramparts and immediately E of the Refreshment room in the Park. <5>
