Full Description

Cropmarks - trackway. <1><2>

The cropmarks, aligned NW to SE, were evaluated in 2004 by Archaeological Solutions (ECC3917) in advance of residential development. Two sets of shallow parallel ditches were defined in Trenches 3 and 4, c.3m and 4.m apart in each trench respectively, and 1.80m wide x 0.32m deep (max.). No dating evidence was recovered from the excavated segments.Trench 3 also revealed an undated post-hole F1008 and a pit F1010, the latter containing three abraded sherds of probable Iron Age date.<3>
