Full Description

Roman pottery kilns (sites of). A group of 12 kilns of updraught type excavated in 1933 and 1959 all dated to c.190-200 AD. Nearby was a timber building, (?11684), a timber lined well (?11681) and a number of burials, both cremationa and inhumation; one burial in a lead coffin was dated to the C4. <1> Other refs given in source 1. <2> <3> <4>
