Full Description
Description of finds from an exhibition catalogue; smoother (potters tool), fishscale ware, Colchester fabric of c.100AD from a potters waste pit, bronze sword and shield boss dated c.100AD rescued from a housing estate; lamp dated 100-200 AD; barbettine ware and samian moulds; silver denarius, a speculum of the tribute money, 10BC-37AD. The finds are all of unknown provenance, the only location recorded being `Lexden, Colchester'; this group may also include material from TL92-46 (site 11628, Lexden Dyke), 85 (site 11713-4, Lexden cemetery) and 144 (site _____, Roman cemetery). <1>
