Full Description

North-south street of the Roman Colonia running between Insulas 35 & 36. Excavated at Site U, Lion Walk excavation in 1971.<1>

During excavations at the Lion Walk Reformed Church (ECC378) in 1984, the metalling of a north-south street was found overlying the backfill of the legionary fortress ditch (MCC478). The street was bounded on its west side by an unusual drain (see MCC1334).<2>
