Full Description

A 25' x 15' double-ended concrete pillbox bisecting the sea wall N of the Pyefleet Channel. It is octagonal with ten gun ports, five of which are open. Owing to a bend in the sea wall the pillbox generally faces E and W. It is possible to enter through the opening which is on the long N side. The far end of the Strood causeway can be seen through one of the loopholes and beneath this is what appears to be the remains of a concrete "pedestal" with a V-shaped channel, possibly for holding a machine-gun mounting.
