Full Description
A premature baby was found buried in a small pit (KF367) at the north end of Building 5. Stratigraphically it was not possible to be certain if the burial belonged to the period of the legionary fortress (Period 1 of Site K, c.AD 44-c.AD 49/55) or the pre-Boudican Colonia (Period 2 of Site K, c.AD 49/55-AD 60/1), but the report states that military context seems less likely for such a burial.<1>
