Full Description

Two feet thick brick and rubble wall 18 inches below ground surface, with modern water main resting on it. The wall was situated beneath the pavement in front of the junction between the 'Lamb' and the 'Hippodrome.' <1>

This was originally thought to be Roman but is now considered to be medieval in date. <2>
