Full Description

Excavation of trenches for a new building fronting onto Hythe Hill.
A few prehistoric finds and small quantities of Roman building material indicate possible activity in the area. Earliest occupation on site dated to 12th- 13th Century extending to the 16th Century, consisting of a number of pits and some small pits or postholes indicating a possible building.
During the 17th C the street frontage was built up and occupied by a series of timber framed buildings, probably three properties.<3>
